Abstract: The search for places to relax, contemplate the landscape and enjoy the fresh air, as in the case of the coastal avenue in the city of Inhambane, has grown a lot in recent times, and by custom, the users of this public place, for leisure, when it comes to it if they do, accompanied or individually, they consume products whose leftovers originate garbage or solid residues. The choice of the theme related to solid waste management is justified by the need to improve the management process of these in the marginal of the Municipality of Inhambane (MI), ensuring the maintenance of this space as a postcard of the city and increasing the satisfaction of its users. users, contributing, broadly, to the conservation of marine species and ecosystems that develop on the urban maritime coast of the Municipality of Inhambane, drawing the attention to MI citizens and visitors about the need to contribute to a better quality of the environment and public health. Thus, the present work had as research objects the solid waste management and the tourist activity (leisure) and sought to achieve the following objectives: to describe the solid waste management process in the marginal avenue of Inhambane; identify impacts such as maritime, land and air pollution, death of beings and destruction of ecosystems, resulting from the deposition of solid waste in the coastal strip of Inhambane; evaluate the satisfaction of tourists and users who visit the coastal road in the municipality of Inhambane and, finally, define strategies to improve GRS in the coastal road of Inhambane. The methodology for the elaboration of this work followed four (04) phases, among which we find the 1st Phase of the bibliographical and documentary research; the 2nd phase, field work; the 3rd phase, for the analysis and interpretation of data and the 4th phase for the writing of the final research report. The results of the research allowed us to verify that, in its totality, public institutions, commercial establishments, private companies and residences located in the study area, accumulate solid waste internally to, at the end of the day, proceed to its disposal in the available containers by the CMCI; With the completion of the survey, it was concluded that the majority of users are not very satisfied with the management of municipal waste in Inhambane, so they recommend that the agency responsible for cleaning the MI study the most practical ways to increase the level of waste. user satisfaction and make the CI as attractive as possible to further capture the positive attention of visitors.
